Katherine Bennett
ARTIST STATEMENT
Katherine Bennett loves to observe and paint light. Whatever the subject matter may be, it is the light that captures her interest and her hope is that she can convey the beauty of what she sees. After a career in journalism and nonprofit management, Katherine became a full time artist after the pandemic. Her primary inspiration comes from her first painting mentor, William St. George (deceased 2019) who encouraged her to make the switch to painting full time. She appreciates all genres of art and is particularly inspired by American Impressionist Childe Hassom and Rembrandt who beautifully expressed light in radically different ways.
