ARTIST STATEMENT
“Occasionally one sees something fleeting in the land, a moment when line, color and movement intensify and something sacred is revealed.” - Barry Lopez
As an avid endurance runner, hiker, and explorer, I seek out the sacred moments found in the natural world. From the trails of my New Hampshire backyard to the Tetons of Wyoming, to the Fjords of Alaska, I capture these moments with my camera, and return to the studio to reflect and reimagine the colors, shapes, and lines using expressive brushwork.
Movement in nature is healing. The rhythm of the body in motion, the fresh air bringing ease and clarity of mind, I am able to work through challenges, both physical and emotional. The act of painting allows time to remember and reflect.
