Paul Gilmore
ARTIST STATEMENT
Paul Gilmore MD is a writer and photographer who seeks clarity in visceral impressions. Clarity, or else fuzziness. Whatever feels better. He writes about diverse life experiences and immersion in evocative landscapes. His photographs have been exhibited in the Griffin Museum of Photography, Wilmington, MA, ASmith Gallery, Johnson City, TX, and PhotoPlace Gallery, Middlebury, VT.
He retired from medicine in 2021, after 40 years of practice in a post-industrial New England town. Every person he met, patients and colleagues, had stories to share. He travels widely in America with his camera and journal.
