ARTIST STATEMENT

My art captures the dialogue between the soul and the untamed landscapes that shape it, reflecting the lingering emotions found along the rugged New England coast, the misty shores of the Pacific Northwest and the iconic vistas of our National Parks. Through long-exposure photography, often paired with verse that draws out the emotive aspects, I seek to capture the fleeting moments—where Atlantic tides meet granite cliffs, where Pacific fog embraces towering evergreens, and where mountains whisper their timeless stories to the wind.

Guided by the profound serenity of wild places and the human connection to them, my work bridges the landscapes I wander with the emotions they inspire. Whether hiking the White Mountains, exploring Acadia’s rugged coast, or witnessing fog dance over Olympic waters, these moments breathe life into my creations—preserving awe before it fades into memory. My process, intuitive and shaped by emotion, follows the dynamic dance of light and shadow. I embrace both the quiet introspection of dawn and the untamed energy of waves crashing against the shore, transforming the fluidity of water and mist into tangible stillness through long exposures.

Through my art, I invite others to pause, breathe, and immerse themselves in the moment—to feel the salt-tinged air on their skin, the cool, steadfast weight of ancient stones beneath their feet, and the magic of shifting light as it dances across the landscape. By sharing these glimpses of wonder, I hope to foster a deeper appreciation for the quiet beauty of vast seascapes, resilient mountains, and the intimate, fleeting moments that connect us to nature—and, in turn, to ourselves.
