Artist Statement
Raised in Miami Florida, I have lived in Northeast Tennessee for 25 years. Drawing has been an escape for me for most of my life, but I started painting just a few years ago when I was suddenly homebound due to injury. I found my heart in it. Mostly my work is whimsicaland full of color in acrylic paint on wrapped canvas. Looking at the body of work as a whole, you will find the vast majority is of women with colorful, flowing hair. These pieces speak to me of freedom, inner peace and strength. The curving, flowing and asymmetric lines in most pieces lend my style toward art nouveau.
