Artist Statement
As the crow flies I live just a few miles from the Appalachian Trail in Greene County in 'upper east' Tennessee. If I face southeast, I can watch the sun rise over the Bald Mountains, which are part of the vast chain of the Appalachians. Every day, nature provides me with visual drama for inspiration. In both sculpture and paintings I focus on simple forms with formal and symbolic potential. My aim is the same in both media: by focusing on simple forms with formal and symbolic potential I hope to communicate the spirit and essence of our human connection with the power of nature.
Patti has BFA with emphasis in Sculpture, painting and jewelry from Middle Tennessee State University.
